Francis Buchet - Anatomical illustrator specializing in human morphology

I discovered Francis on Instagram and was immediately impressed by his style and his work on artistic anatomy. But why not discover his world in more depth? I signed up for his workshop hoping to rediscover drawing, anatomy, and the blend of the two! I became a fan of the person, his anecdotes, and his teaching style. The idea came to me from the very first class: why not invite him to join the En Chair et en Os adventure? The idea matured throughout the year, and today, I am proud and honored to tell you that Francis is joining En Chair et en Os as an illustrator and anatomy instructor.
What Francis offers you
Francis's role in En Chair et en Os
Francis will create several anatomical posters that you will be able to find in the shop. But his role goes further. He also helps me prepare future anatomical models, saving me time during the production phase. He is, in a way, the architect of the models to come from 2026 onwards, which will allow us to offer you much more content, more types—more athletes, musicians, laborers... Finally, Francis is participating in the creation of the En Chair et en Os Academy: he will contribute to the production of long, educational videos on anatomy, to give this project the depth and pedagogy it deserves. Francis Buchet will also offer personalized caricatures for healthcare professionals; we'll talk about that just below.

Caricatures for healthcare professionals: a memorable gift idea
Francis draws personalized caricatures of healthcare professionals on commission. Graduations, opening a practice, retirement, birthdays, end of residency: it’s the gift one doesn't forget, because it tells the story of a person, their profession, and their sense of humor. If you are looking to give something impactful to a friend who is a doctor, surgeon, physiotherapist, osteopath, podiatrist, or dentist, write to me. We’ll discuss it, frame your wishes, and Francis will get to work.
Anatomical caricatures for your events
Medical forums, medical and surgical congresses, medical-themed parties, pharmaceutical laboratory events: Francis can attend your events to create caricatures on-site or in advance, with his recognizable anatomical angle. It’s an activity that creates a connection between participants, leaves everyone with a tangible souvenir, and fits naturally into the medical world. If you are organizing an event and this idea speaks to you, contact me so we can build something together.
Morphological anatomy training: how to draw anatomy
Francis also offers training for artists, students, and healthcare professionals who want to understand anatomy through drawing. His teaching style starts from the live model and works back toward the skeletal and muscular structure, covering function along the way. Whether you are an artist who wants to refine your character drawings, an anatomy student looking to improve your memorization, or a healthcare worker who wants to understand the body in motion, Francis can guide you. Details on his upcoming workshops and training sessions can be found on the dedicated page.

Who is Francis?
Francis has a story that resonates particularly with my own. He began medical studies before taking a turn. He abandoned them to enter the Académie Charpentier, where he trained in drawing. He then continued at Gobelins (storyboarding, layout, animation), then at the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Paris Academy of Art in the morphology section. In short, a man who never left the human body, but approached it from the other side of the mirror.
Francis is a comic book artist and illustrator specializing in artistic and morphological anatomy. In publishing, he collaborated on the series Blake and Mortimer, Arsène Lupin, and Petit Vampire, before signing as the lead artist for the Axo series with Les Humanoïdes Associés, followed by the album De l'intérieur, released in 2022.
But it is undoubtedly teaching that best defines Francis. For over fifteen years, he has passed on morphology to hundreds of students: at Penninghen, the Atelier des 3 Colombes, ECV, ISART, the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, and other comic art schools. Today, he continues to teach at Beaux-Arts & Entertainment and in his own morphological anatomy studio. His signature: teaching morphology on a chalkboard, accompanied by his faithful colleague, the skeleton.
What makes the difference when listening to him during a class is that Francis tells the story of the body. He doesn't just list muscle insertions: he puts them into motion, replaces them in a posture, in a live model posing in front of him. That is where his method makes perfect sense, both for artists and healthcare professionals.
